Thomas Jonathan Jackson, or "Stonewall Jackson", was a Confederate General during the Civil War. He earned his nickname during the First Battle of Bull Run, when Barnard E. Bee said,"There is Jackson standing like a stone wall." Jackson led troops in many other battles, including both Bull Run battles, Antietam, and Fredericksburg. He was accidentally shot by Confederate pickets at Chancellorsville, and was mortally wounded. He died soon after, of pneumonia. He was 39 years old when he died.
